For many years payment of dowry has been a common practice in the African culture. These days it is seen as buying or purchasing a woman and I wonder why?
A woman earning more than a man is still not perceived well in most communities.
The other day i was watching television and there was a discussion on a marriage bill to be implemented in my country. The bill proposes either a polygamous or monogamous marriage depending on what the couple decide before the marriage takes place.
whatever happened to this verse:
Matt 19: 5 For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall have sex with his wife; and the two shall become one flesh; 6 Consequently, they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore, God has joined together, let no man separate.
Yeah well times change!
Even women are now opting to be in a polygamous marriage rather than have their husbands cheat with someone else. It seems women would rather play using the man's rules.
What choices are women being given in all these? Is the society favoring men or are we all victims?

I like your blog and it is very incredible, job well done.
Mine is very brief regarding to culture in our society, today culture is not strictly followed by our own people, besides born in upcountry and and in town is very different.
I think in the year 12 BC king Solomon had many wives and he was very wise.He did everything equally since at that period he was polygamous by nature. Today many women prefer to be in a polygamous marriage rather than in a monogamous marriage.So my question is, where do you fall?

Thank you for agreeing with me that today many women are opting for a polygamous marriage which i do not think should be the case whether the reason behind it is to reduce infidelity. Human beings should just work at a one man one woman relationship otherwise the only bill to be passed should be if one cheats...castrate him
